I am back from vacation, and this week I am determined to eat as healthy as possible. This means avoiding processed foods, sugar, and alcoholic drinks.
I am also happy to report I recently went to the doctor for a checkup, and all my tests came out PERFECT! It makes me feel so happy to know that eating healthy is so worth it. The biggest reward is your health….and feeling great…. the most important things in life to me.
I also want my family to eat nutritious foods. Homemade meals made from scratch. Lots of fruits and veggies. I try. I try hard to teach my two kids healthy eating habits. I am always introducing new flavors and trying new recipes.
This is why I created this 7 Inexpensive Gadgets That Make It Easier To Eat Healthier post. You actually do need a few tools to make it easier to cook healthy meals. I hope you find them helpful and inspire you to make new creative and healthy fun foods.

1. A SPIRALIZER, to turn vegetables into pasta.
This is such a wonderful gadget for easy to make recipes. Instead of traditional pasta, try zucchini, carrots, beets, or parsnip. They are ready in just a few minutes, and are a perfect way to introduce more veggies to the entire family. Also great with my Super Green Spinach Avocado Basil Raw Pesto. 2. A SLOW COOKER, for cooking fantastic homemade balanced meals with zero effort.
The slow cooker is such a wonderful tool to have in your kitchen. Just add a meat of your choice, some vegetables, and a few spices, and turn on this little machine. You are done! 3. A MANDOLINE, for easy slicing and making veggie chips.
You can use it for long slices, or for making veggie chips, like my The Best Homemade Zucchini Parmesan Chips recipe. This awesome gadget is perfect also for salads or side dishes. It definitely makes it easier to slice fruits and veggies. Saves you time and makes you eat more fruits and vegetables. You can get one for only $14.99 here.
4. A STEAMER BASKET, to preserve all the nutrition.
The best way to cook your veggies to preserve their nutrition content, is steaming. Boiling and frying takes away a big percentage of all the goodness. A study published in the November 2003 issue of the Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture found that broccoli cooked in the microwave lost up to 97 percent of its antioxidant content but lost only 11 percent when it was steamed. I always drink lemon water in the mornings. The problem is I only use half a lemon and the other half always goes bad.
